Dear Families,
Dear Families,
Wow!
What a fantastic evening with Jon Gailmor. Your students created and performed a
spectacular song. I hope all of you that
attended enjoyed yourself!
On Tuesday October 28th,
we are planning on another trail work day.
We were rained out this week, but have put it on the calendar for next
week. Please be sure your child comes
prepared for working in the woods.
Gloves are a good thing.
While we are talking about dressing
appropriately, please be sure your child has two pair of footwear at
school. With the playground area being
wet and muddy, all the dirt gets tracked into the classroom. Please be sure that your child has a pair of
indoor shoes and a pair of outdoor shoes at school.
In math, we are continuing our work
on fractions. Much of this work requires
that students have instant recall of their math facts.
In writing, we are working on how to
write and punctuate dialogue and how to use the checklist to assess our work.
We are also learning many
interesting facts about the great Rulers of Egypt in social studies. We will
take a look at world geography next week, and learn how understanding where
countries are in the world relates to our study of the ancients.
In word study, part 3e, in our Wordly
Wise book, is due Monday October 27th.
Hopefully, we won’t have any lack of
water interruptions next week. I am
sending home information regarding your child’s parent teacher conference time.
Have
a great weekend, Ellen Knoedler
